The Fiery Furnaces — американская инди-рок-группа, образованная в 2000 году в Бруклине, Нью-Йорк, братом и сестрой Мэтью и Элинор Фридбергами, уроженцами Оук-Парка, Чикаго, Иллинойс[1]. The Fiery Furnaces, исполняющие «игривую, непредсказуемую» музыку[1], в которой соединились экспериментальный и гаражный рок, фолк, блюз, влияния The Who и Captain Beefheart, выпустили восемь[2] студийных альбомов, каждый из которых получал высокие оценки музыкальных критиков[1]. Последние по разнообразию и широте мировоззрения сравнивали дуэт с Le Tigre, French Kicks, East River Pipe, Magnetic Fields. Ближайшими предшественниками Fiery Furnaces, согласно Trouser Press, могут считаться Slapp Happy с их литературными текстами, экспериментальными песенными структурами и «здоровым брехтовским цинизмом»[3].
