Fiddler’s Green (в пер. с англ. — «поляна скрипача») — вымышленное место, где находят последний приют погибшие моряки и солдаты.

Моряки
В рассказе, опубликованном в 1832 говорится, что поляна Fiddler’s Green расположена «в девяти милях от жилища Сатаны»[1] На поляну попадают моряки, отслужившие 50 лет[2][3]. Там всегда в достатке рома и табака.[4]
Например в «Балладе о конвое HX84» есть строки[5]:
- "Convoy dispersing" signals say,
- they flee like hell from here,
- as Jervis Bay steams through the fray
- to ram the mighty Scheer.
- Poor Jervis Bay has gone below
- as though she'd never been,
- she's gone to where good sailors go
- for berths in Fiddler's Green.
