Pleocomidae  (лат.) — семейство насекомых из отряда жесткокрылых, включающее единственный род Pleocoma и около 30 видов[1].

Описание

Встречаются в Северной Америке. Длина тела: самцы 16,5—29,0 мм; самки 19,5—44,5 мм. Усики 11-члениковые. Кариотип 9+Xyp[1].

Систематика

Семейство иногда рассматривается как подсемейство среди пластинчатоусых (Geotrupidae, Melolonthinae, в качестве подсемейства Pleocominae)[1].

Экология и местообитания

Питаются корнями дубов и хвойных деревьев.
